Meetings: Wednesdays, 2:45-4:10

Location: Room B221/7th Grade Lab/Media Center

Open to all 6th, 7th, and 8th grade RPMS students.

As a member of History Club, you will practice what it means to "do" history--to investigate the past, analyze historical evidence, and develop your own conclusions about the significance of events in history.

Our main goal will be to complete projects for National History Day. You will have the support of all History Club members as you complete your projects and represent RPMS at the competition. During our Wednesday meetings, we will come together as a group to learn about the National History Day competition, research topics, and develop your final projects.

As a participant in National History Day you will:

Choose a historical topic of interest that relates to the 2012 NHD theme: "Revolution, Reaction, Reform in History”

Research your topic using available primary and secondary sources.

Present your findings in one of the following contest formats:
        * Paper
        * Exhibit
        * Documentary
        * Website
        * Performance

Compete at the Montgomery County History Day competition. Participants have the opportunity to win medals and cash prizes and advance to the Maryland History Day competition!
